Tuchel makes worrying injury claim to Chelsea star after Spurs draw

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has made a worrying claim about N’Golo Kante’s injury against Tottenham today.

Kante, who was substituted in the 85th minute, appeared to stop with a hamstring problem.

It’s such a shame as the 31-year-old central midfielder looked excellent in Sunday’s 2-2 draw for the Blues against Spurs.

Unfortunately, Chelsea were caught twice to see maximum points snatched from them in the Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge. However, Thomas Tuchel should be extremely proud and happy with his team’s performance on the pitch.

Kante injury vs Tottenham

Tuchel confirmed in his post-match interview tonight that Kante’s injury was a hamstring issue.

In fact, he hinted that it could be quite serious for the Frenchman as he felt a ‘quite strong’ impact on the muscle.

“It looks like another muscle injury, the hamstrings. He said he felt it quite strongly. So no good news,” Tuchel said.

With Mateo Kovacic out today through injury, Chelsea’s options in the center of the park look a little slim following Kante’s fitness issue.

As things stand, Tuchel could look to Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Conor Gallagher to start in the center of the park on next weekend’s league trip to Leeds United.

Unfortunately, Kante has started getting injured in recent years.

That’s not a major concern when you consider how much he has put his body through the years with astonishing energy on a football pitch.

This is perhaps a sign that the Blues may need another midfielder to come through the door.
