Take from Twitter On Tuesday, Pearce confirmed that Carvalho is not part of training, which means he will definitely not feature at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona:

“No sign of Carvalho or Jones in open formation at Kirkby.”

Verdict: Shame for the youngster

It’s a real blow for Carvalho, who will have been on cloud nine this time last week after scoring a spectacular last-minute winner at home to Newcastle United.

His progress was halted at a cruel moment and it adds to Liverpool’s current injury problems in midfield, with the youngster joining Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines.
