Leeds United injury complaint emerges as relegation debate intensifies

Robbie Savage has claimed Leeds United are likely to suffer more injuries due to Marcelo Bielsa’s system.

The Whites are expected to have finished their 2021 fixtures as their Liverpool clash has been postponed with the Aston Villa reunion that may follow.

This is the culmination of Leeds’ injury struggles, complemented by several positive COVID-19 results this week.

Even before the positive cases, Leeds had nine injuries to fear ahead of the trip to Anfield this weekend.

It’s the worst crisis we’ve had under Marcelo Bielsa in terms of absentees and things can only get better from here.

It won’t be the last time we face injury issues, but with the quality of the squad one might think that panic won’t be long term over this current squad’s position in the top flight. .

This is also the point of view of Robbie Savage, who had this to say about William Hill’s Three of the best about who can face relegation:

“I’m going to go with Norwich and Newcastle. It is one with Burnley, Watford and Leeds.

“I just think Leeds, yeah, they played three more games than Burnley, five points ahead of them, but they have a lot of injuries.

“I think the way they play, they’re always going to get hurt because of how dynamic they are, how much energy they use. I still think they will rack up more injuries by the end of the season.

“I just think when they get some players back they will have enough to stay in the Premier League.”

The injuries we face are unprecedented, but once we are out of this mess we will not be forever immune to it happening again.

That being said, if we can get rid of that bad luck, we have more than enough to move up the standings and move away from the bottom three.

There are a lot of teams around us right now and I have no doubts that we are better than when we were almost full.
